Region of Peel: Derry Road Infrastructure Upgrades
Building resilient infrastructure for community.
Geotechnical, hydrogeological, and excess soil investigations were completed for Derry Road to support the design large diameter watermains and sanitary sewers. Working with the Region of Peel and its design consultant, the team provided subsurface insights and contributed to the design and planning of this key infrastructure project.

Delivering results through collaboration.
The Derry Road project demonstrates how strong partnerships and technical expertise drive successful outcomes. EnVision’s integrated approach—from project management to advanced engineering—enabled the team to overcome complex site challenges, maintain schedules, and will deliver lasting benefits for the community.

Comprehensive project management.
EnVision implemented a tailored Project Management and Delivery Plan, coordinating scope, schedule, quality, and cost. Dedicated leadership, project management and certified professionals ensured seamless stakeholder engagement and rigorous documentation, keeping stakeholders informed of progress at every step.
Advanced technical investigations.
The team conducted extensive geotechnical, hydrogeological, and environmental studies, including drilling 66 boreholes, with some to depths greater than 40 metres, bedrock coring, monitoring well installations, and specialized soil testing. These investigations informed design, planning, and construction, supporting safe installation and long-term reliability of new infrastructure.
In addition, the team completed construction impact assessments for sensitive infrastructure, including the Metrolinx bridge crossing and Enbridge gas mains. These assessments will ensure that construction activities around these areas are carefully planned and executed to protect critical transportation and utility assets, minimize risks, and maintain uninterrupted service for the community.

Environmental stewardship & safety.
EnVision prioritized excess soil management and mitigation for adjacent structures, complying with Ontario regulations. Pre- and post-construction surveys ensured environmental integrity and safety for the community throughout the project lifecycle.
Expertise & Capabilities
Environment
Environmental Compliance
Assisting clients with understanding legislative and contractual requirements to navigate their commitments, ensuring their sites are well managed at all times.
Excess Soil Management
Delivering due diligence and O. Reg. 406/19 compliant excess soil management services to provide practical solutions and clear direction for beneficial re-use and/or disposal, while minimizing impact to project delivery.
Geotechnical
Foundations & Deep Excavations
We evaluate site-specific conditions to determine the best foundation strategy, from pile capacity and raft design to shoring systems and dewatering needs, balancing performance, safety, and constructibility.
Geotechnical Investigations
We assess subsurface conditions to guide engineering design, offering clear recommendations for how soil, bedrock, and groundwater will perform in excavations, foundations, slopes, tunnels, and earthworks.
Slope Stability & Stabilization Design
We analyze slope conditions to support regulatory compliance and hazard mitigation, delivering stabilization strategies like soil nailing, gravity walls, drainage design, and shear inclusions.
Tunnel & Trenchless
We assess the feasibility of trenchless approaches, modelling ground and structural response to tunnelling to manage risk and ensure safe, efficient execution below the surface.
Instrumentation & Monitoring
Pre & Post Condition Surveys
Evaluating site conditions prior to and after construction to determine whether changes occurred during project execution.
Structural Health Monitoring
Providing real time, continuous monitoring of performance of subsurface construction for buildings, as well as underneath highways, bridges, railway tracks and subway tunnels.
Project Management
Budgeting & Cost Control
Managing budgets and controlling costs to meet project goals without compromising quality.
Project Planning
Defining requirements and developing a schedule to navigate through the implementation phases of the project to manage time, cost, quality, risk, and related issues.
Scheduling & Resource Planning
Setting realistic timelines for project activities, sequencing, and allocating resources to ensure project success.
Water
Dewatering
Extensive experience in groundwater control investigations, including test well design, pumping test facilitation, water taking permit requests, and impact assessments.
Surface Water
Undertaking predictive assessments and water quality and quantity monitoring programs to support the understanding of land use effects on lakes and watercourses.
